New York Independent Art Film Fest in association with the NY Art Film magazine was founded by a group of indie filmmakers and artists from NY, LA and Toronto. The collaborative effort of these creative minds has led to the establishment of a platform that celebrates the art of independent filmmaking and artistic expression through various competitions and annual screenings of indie features and shorts of all genres at the Producers Club of NY. The annual screening at the Producers Club is a testament to the festival's commitment to providing a space for emerging talents to showcase their work.

The festival's committee is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating a wide range of genres including drama, documentary, animation, experimental, human rights, science fiction, and more. This inclusive approach ensures that the festival remains a center of creativity and innovation. Furthermore, the festival holds competitions for script projects, music videos, actresses, actors, cinematographers, composers, and editors periodically.
